SI AFL Sackometer
The Sackometer is the output of an algorithm built by us
to rank AFL coach performance based purely on data and without personal opinion.
We use variables such as bookmakers line, length of time of as coach, experience
of players available, and their recent record.
The scale is a zero sum equation where zero means a coach is meeting the average expectation against his peers. The higher the score, the less pressure a coach should be under. Conversely the lower the score, the more heat a coach should be under. The Sackometer updates on a Tuesday after each round.
