Punters Corner: Zero Sympathy for Brendan Bolton

Whether you were unspeakably hard done by at the weekend or just want to have a break from your bull dancing to tell everyone how good you went, you are now amongst friends, in a safe place.
We are in the trust tree here people, in the nest...
It was a weekend that could have gone a lot better but a solid Sunday got me out of trouble so it’s tough to complain too much (but I’ll give it a red hot crack).
Saturday didn’t start well with Hawkins (4) and Danger (2) falling short for us. Danger did start forward but spent much more time in the midfield than I’d expected. Still, seven disposals inside forward 50 usually translates to more than 2 goals for Danger.
Greenwood didn’t play forward at all in Darwin. The returns of Lynch and Jenkins, and Sloane going down conspired to keep him away. Still, Lynch kicked 3 and so did Crouch from the midfield – I think the spot was there it just didn’t happen for Hughie.
But the let down of the weekend was Sunday when Ed Curnow, probably Carlton’s second best and most experienced midfielder, was finally put onball… only to tag Zac Merrett.
Tagging the opposition’s best player only works if the rest of your team doesn’t get absolutely flogged. Using a ball-winning midfielder who can find 30+ when told to tag a guy (who ended up getting 22 disposals anyway) is one of many reasons why Brendan Bolton doesn’t have a job this afternoon.
Dead set, you have Mathew Kennedy plodding away in there racking up his gargantuan eight (8) disposals - let him look like tagging someone and give Curnow the chance to actually win the footy. Zero sympathy for Bolton.
I can see myself getting sucked into more Curnow next week, hopefully the new coach recognises the asset and sets him loose on the Lions.
It was not all frustrations as I went hard at my Sunday disposal multi of Boak/Heppell/Gaff all for 30+.
The swings and roundabouts of AFL Exotics. We have been throwing some wild darts lately but when one hits, it will pay off big time. Might throw some smaller, more ‘safe’ 2-3 leg multi’s into the Club 20 form this week just to keep the bank roll ticking while we chase the big exotics payday!
But enough of me, we want to hear your stories. It's Monday morning and it's raw. For good or bad, let's hear it!
