Punters Corner: Value harder to spot than a Kangas coaching candidate

After extensive research and a few tears, initial concerns have solidified into concrete conclusions - markets have tightened considerably this week making value harder to spot than a North Melbourne coaching candidate.

Hope remains though in the form of one very lopsided game in Sydney where Club 20 punters have absolutely loaded up on the tall timber for the Giants.

The Swans have had a major backline reshuffle and have lost their best player and defensive general on the eve of a game featuring the best three-card trick in footy.

Giants smashed them by 40+ earlier this year, by 39pts late last season and by any reasonable assessment, without Rampe, this scoreline could be anything.

There is no way to sugar coat how helpless the Sydney Swans should be here and with confidence sky-high, the front bar has ripped the proverbial kitchen sink out of the wall and pegged it straight into that Giants forward line.

There was some initial debate about which player we should target until one of the regulars, a guy we all know as Guts, called for quiet and, drawing on his experience of watching a lot of taco commercials, put an end to the arguments.

"Why don't we just take all three?"

I have no idea why the other blokes call you such nasty names Gutsy, you're a visionary!

And thus, Operation Giant Blanket was born.

Jeremy Finlayson 4+, 5+, 6+ Goals

We also decided that should one of the key's fail, it would not make sense to have only multis, so we're riding these guys for individual goals as well, hoping one of them pops. Finlayson has two 5-goal hauls already this year. A third would not surprise and at 6.50 (4), 16.00 (5) and 51.50 (6) we'll be whipping home every major.

Harry Himmelberg 4+, 5+, 6+ Goals

The Western Sydney Wizard seems like the hardest matchup for the Swans here, so we can't leave him out of the individual bets. If Allir Allir manages to keep Cameron quiet and burns our multis, then we will be relying on Harry or Finlayson to go big. He is not big odds but for 6.00 (4), 14.50 (5) and 42.00 (6) the matchup advantage is just too sweet.

Cameron 6+ Goals

JC is too short for any individual goal bets under 6 goals but we're doubling the stake on him to return a big bag of 6+ here @ 8.75. to round out the Club 20 bets for R20.

Hedge

Cruelly denied sporting glory due to recurring shin splint complaints and an aversion to warm-up laps, Hedge now spends his days golfing, fishing the leaves out of the Club 20 pools and identifying value plays in PGA, AFL, AFLW and T20. All you really need to know about him is he's more than comfortable taking 3I off the tee on a Par 5, and more than capable of pulling driver off the deck second shot.
