Punters Corner: Spot that is too good to miss

Club 20 bets are usually spread nice and evenly across the whole round but there is one specific game this week that is just too good not to be all over!
While it rains all weekend in Melbourne, Club 20 punters will be sunning our collective torso’s by the pool bar awaiting what will hopefully be a three-figure margin and a career goal kicking day for a few Swannies at the SCG.
Friday Night Multi’s
We will get to the sweet spot the Swannies forwards are in just a bit but we couldn’t let a Friday granny replay go un-punted on.
The consensus at the front bar this morning was the Eagles will win big but nailing the forward who cashes in is tricky and the value doesn’t seem to be there.
Two seconds after I casually suggested Oscar Allen I was dodging coasters like Neo on that high rise, so we haven’t gone back to the Allen well this week.
Not being able to land on any one guy to really get behind, we’ve had a few little nibbles at some multi’s which seemed to get a strong majority agreement.
- Sheed Goal, Redden, Phillips 24.5 Disposal Line Overs, @7.50
- Sheed Goal, Redden, Phillips 24.5 Disposal Line Overs, Mayne 20+ @ 14.50
- Cameron 2 Goals, Sheed Goal, Redden, Phillips 24.5 Disposal Line Overs, Mayne 20+ @ 54.00
Word of warning though, we had a ‘buy 1 get 6 free’ promo this morning in an attempt to finally rid ourselves of this keg of Reschs Real that has been sitting there since the rep sent it to us by mistake in the late 80’s, so some of the lads may not have been at their level best during the multi brainstorm.
In other news, I've had a sneaky side go on Allen and I'd be damned if the lads will see a penny of it when he bags 5. This Reschs really isn't that bad you know! Go Oscar! *hiccup*
Saturday in Sydney
Almost all of our Club 20 bets this week are going in one game, at the SCG, to a Swans forward line gifted one of the most putrid defensive matchups of the season (possibly in the history of sport).
Marchbank and Weitering were not exactly lighting up the footy field but with both those guys gone this week the Blues are forced to rely on the key defensive pairing of, wait for it, Jones and Casboult.
Just say that out loud again, it is actually quite fun. Jones and Casboult.
Add in a few old guys who are a step or two slower than they used to be, a kid playing his first game for the Blues and another couple of plodders, and well, you see why we are all in on the Swannies goal kickers this week.
Tom Papley 4+, 5+, 6+ Goals
He already has a big bag this season and with no Buddy, and no good matchup, it is any wonder Papley is priced so low. At 6 (4) 16 (5) and 50 (6) we're still on though. Get angry Tom!
Sam Reid 4+, 5+, 6+ Goals
Betting on Reid is kind of like betting on poo not to come out brown - sure it can happen but it's not exactly the percentage play. But with Allir playing so well in the ruck the Swans can afford to play Reid majority forward here and he will get Levi Casboult. Should I go on? Again the prices have been slashed due to matchup but at 7.50 (4), 19 (5) and 66-1 for 6 goals he could easily be the Swan forward that pops here.
Nick Blakey 3+, 4+, 5+, 6+ Goals
This is the one the Club 20 lads and ladies were most keen to get behind. Blakey will get Liam 'if i hurry now, i can be 30m out of position before the ball gets to my opponent' Jones for company here and again, there is no Buddy. At 5.25 (3), 13.75 (4) 43 (5) and a very juicy 171-1 for 6 goals, Blakey is in the spot of all spots at a great price.
Isaac Heeney 3+, 4+, 5+, 6+ Goals
We tossed and turned about Heeney but at the end of the day, if Blakey and Reid are well held by (wait for it), Jones and Casboult, then Heeney will need to stand up and take a few grabs down there, kick a few goals and save the Swans from the embarrassment of the season. Great prices too at 6 (3) 18 (4), 76.50 (5) and 376-1 for 6, Heeney is a little bit of insurance for us if the main targets fail to fire.
Swans Goalkicker Multi's
- Papley, Blakey, Reid 3 Goals @ 51.00
- Papley, Blakey 3 Goals, Heeney 2 Goals @ 51.00
