Punters Corner: Right spot, wrong matchup and bad kicking

Whether you were unspeakably hard done by at the weekend or just want to have a break from your bull dancing to tell everyone how good you went, you are now amongst friends, in a safe place.

We are in the trust tree here people, in the nest...

Just what in the name of the Ablett and the Jnr is going on here?

Things didn't start well for Club 20 patrons with Roughy going to Franklin instead of Reid Friday night. Roughy didn't and doesn't have the leg speed to stop Buddy but he did just enough given the poor supply to the big Bud. He held Buddy to his lowest possession game since 2009, all the while Reid was towelling the youngster Madgen kicking just his third bag of 6 goals in his career.

Right spot, wrong matchup.

Saturday barely improved despite Cam Zurhaar kicking 2 early goals. He could and should have had a few more during North's big win but it got shared around so the big payoff was frustratingly short.

Coniglio didn't spend as much time forward as we had hoped which curtailed his chances of kicking a few goals - the Demons were actually too bad to warrant the midfielder spending too much time down there, and when he was down there the ball was being marked by the keys.

But hands down the biggest let down of the weekend was Daniel Rioli who kicked 1.2 in a game that suited him perfectly. They were not hard shots for his skill level and again Club 20 punters were left to watch a good spot identified just slip away through inaccuracy and or some rough luck.

It can be a hard caper throwing some darts at the exotics markets but the benefit is that you only have to hit big once for it to really pay off.

But enough of me, we want to hear your stories. It's Monday morning and it's raw. For good or bad, let's hear it!

Hedge

Cruelly denied sporting glory due to recurring shin splint complaints and an aversion to warm-up laps, Hedge now spends his days golfing, fishing the leaves out of the Club 20 pools and identifying value plays in PGA, AFL, AFLW and T20. All you really need to know about him is he's more than comfortable taking 3I off the tee on a Par 5, and more than capable of pulling driver off the deck second shot.
