Punters Corner: Pool slides, punts and a seriously super Saturday
Last updated: Jul 6, 2019, 1:58AM | Published: Jul 6, 2019, 1:02AM
It’s a Super Saturday of value at Club 20, with patrons as excited with today’s bets as they are with the newly installed slide at the pool bar.
Security and bar staff are especially pleased with the new addition to the Club 20 facilities as it has proven to be the most accurate and effective early warning goose-detector they have ever seen.
Back to the punt though and we have a full book of bets ranging from some of the safest, most confident looks we’ve had in weeks to some absolutely bat-sh*t crazy hail mary plays.
Such is the life of the Club 20 punter – one day our safety and our crazy will coalesce into one glorious, beautiful arvo of footy greatness.
And on the day after that day my friends, we shall all get pool slides!
Jayden Laverde 2+, 3+ ,4+ Goals
Jyaden has been super consistent since coming into the side, should avoid Rampe and with Allir likely to spend some time in the ruck (and thus not intercepting down back), there could be some points in this Bombers forward line today. Really like him for the 2 goals here which covers our three bets should he only snag the brace. But at 2.80 (2), 8.25 (3) and 26.50 (4), I reckon he is a good little play to start off a big day with.
David Swallow 25+, 30+ Disposals
Captain consistent at Metricon this season where he has, so far, gone 30, 30, 24, 35, 29 and 24 disposals this season for a 6-game 28.6 disposal average. Been wet on the Goldy and could see some rain which brings Swallow into it even more. Love the 1.83 for 25+ and will be including in a few multiples, whilst the 4.00 for 30+ looks solid as well.
Daniel Rioli 2+, 3+, 4+, 5+, 6+ Goals
This is the pool slide play. Rioli has been horrid this season lets be honest. But he has form at Metricon (kicked 3.1 in 2017 up there in similar conditions) and he won’t stray far from goals today in a game that will suit the goal sneaks. If any team can kick an out-of-form star into gear, it is the Suns. At 3.25 (2), 9.50 (3), 32.35 (4), 171 (5) and (wait for it) 2351-1 for 6 goals, Club 20 are heavily invested on Daniel Rioli today which scares the bejebus out of us all.
Rhys Stanley 2+, 3+ Goals
Drifted forward on O’Brien last week with Blics taking some ruck time and I expect that continues today with English not being a dominant big man and the Cats not having a second tall forward. As usual will depend on accuracy, but I reckon he gets the looks though and at @ 4.33 (2) and 14.25 (3) feels worth the go.
Patrick Lipinksi 25+, 30+ Disposals
Love Lipinski tonight. Possibly the value play of the day at 2.50 for 25+. Markets seem to have cooled on him after last start but that was in a flood of biblical proportions at Adelaide Oval. On a dry track at Marvel he will return to finding the footy and should get a 2-4 disposal bump sans Daniel. Taking the 30+ at 6.50 as well with good degree of confidence.
Hayden Crozier 20+, 25+, 30+ Disposals
Trying to identify the Caleb Daniel stat bump is tricky but Crozier could be worth a look as he is one player who does have 30+ upside on his day, and the ball should be spending a lot of time in that Cats forward line. At 2.50 (20), 7.25 (25), 25.00 (30) I think he seems well worth the look today.
Multiples
- Patrick Lipinksi 25+ Sam Walsh 30+ @ 7.00
- Patrick Lipinksi 25+ Sam Walsh 30+, Elliot Yeo 25+ @ 11.70
- Patrick Lipinksi 25+ Sam Walsh 30+, Elliot Yeo 25+, David Swallow 25+ @ 21.40
