Punters Corner: Learning lessons is loser talk!

I’m not going to lie to you, last week hurt.

We’ve been frightfully unlucky in recent weeks but last week was one of those weeks where we were all over everything but got a little bit greedy trying to add Harbrow into already good multis and paid the price.

His failure to clear 20 touches torched several multi's and thousands of dollars in winnings - what could have been! 

The biggest positive to come out of last week was the hard-learnt lessons, and the good news about this week is we have almost unanimously decided to completely disregard last week’s hard-done-by-edness and have instead gone back to the bat-shit crazy well in search of the big Friday night payday.

Not not learning lessons...Huzzah!

Friday Night Footy (8 bets)

Mason Cox 2+, 3+, 4+, 5+ ,6+ 

The big yank is not having a great year but he is nowhere near as bad as the wider footy community is making him out to be and most importantly, he is getting the opportunities. Every time he drops a chest mark or one slides through his outstretched hands he cops it from the commentators and twitter, but all I'm thinking is ‘the defender was nowhere, all he has to do is hold it and that’s a goal’. At the insane odds of $3 (2), $8.50 (3), $29 (4), $151 (5) and, wait for it, $1176 for 6 goals, we’re fully prepared to be disappointed but happy to take the odds. Show me another key forward that has those odds - he will eventually kick a bag and tonight could be the night!

Multis

If we are going to jump on the rickety, unreliable Cox Train, and we absolutely are, then a few small safety multis seem in order to ensure the night is not a complete disappointment.

We really need our head checked if we are looking at both Cox and Allen in consecutive days but I am compelled back to him due to price. He will play 80% of the game in the forward line and without Thompson down back for North, Allen is the one who gets a huge matchup edge. These are crazy odds though and at 5.25 (2), 18.50 (3), 111-1 (4), 526-1 (5), 2501-1 for 6 goals I have to jump back on. He kicks 2 we’re money back almost, kicks 3 we’re laughing. He kicks straight we’ll call for the oxy viva!
