Punters Corner: Just a good player out of luck

Whether you were unspeakably hard done by at the weekend or just want to have a break from your bull dancing to tell everyone how good you went, you are now amongst friends, in a safe place.
We are in the trust tree here people, in the nest...
Well, that was brutal.
It started Friday night with the Eagles failing to destroy the Demons like they should have, flirting with general lairising whilst displaying the absolute bare minimum needed to win.
Hayes and Dahlhaus were both in the spots, they just couldnt kick straight and/or didn't get hit up whilst Brennan freakin' Cox could not have played a worse game of footy.
He gave away 2 inside 45, missed another one out of bounds and was in the goal square for two of the easiest marks you'll ever see only to stuff both completely. It was easily a 3-4 goal game there for him and he blew it!
Jordan Dawson's first quarter miss from 8m out cost my kids their dessert on Saturday night.
"But why dad,' he asked.
"Because! Sometimes even when you are good, you still don't get anything!"
...at least i was kicking parental goals whilst my players were stinking it up.
Some absolutely insane disposal numbers across the weekend shoveled more sand right up in there as game after game the Club 20 patrons had to watch guys we backed last week come good seven days too late.
So hard-done by.
Heading into Sunday and hopes were high that big Jono Ceglar could save the Club 20 bank balance for Round 9, right up until the first quarter when Ben McEvoy went down with a leg injury.
Ceglar peeled off 26 disposals and raised the Daily Fantasy bat but do you think ANY of those 26 disposals were inside forward 50? Nope. Nada. Not one!
Feel for one of the Club 20 regulars Parks12who punched out this seven-leg multi, only to see Ceglar bring it crashing down.
After an amazing opening fortnight (165% and 216.5% POT) Club 20 punters have come back down to earth fairly unceremoniously with big duck eggs in each the last two rounds.
Overall though, a Club 20 $5 bettor would be just $20 down from four weeks which when you factor in the genuine 1985 prices at the bar here well, thing's could be worse.
But enough of me, we want to hear your stories. It's Monday morning and it's raw. For good or bad, let's hear it!
