NBA fever takes over Club 20 and we need points!

NOTHING BUT THE BOTTOM OF THE BET!

The NBA crew has moved into the front bar at Club 20 and completely taken over, informing everyone else that our sports don’t really matter, and that NBA is the only one true god, er, sport.

With just hours left before the start of the 2019/20 season our excitement levels have got us so, um, excited, that we can’t help but agree!

The main play today is in the season-opener in Toronto with the Leonard-less defending champs taking on a new-look Pels side.

To paraphrase the one known as Neo, we need points. Lots of points!

NBA DAY 1: PELICANS @ RAPTORS – PASCAL SIAKAM 30+ / RAPTORS WIN @ 7.00

He only managed 30+ seven times last season but now there is no Leonard it is Siakam’s time to shine at home against a Pels team that has stated they wish to play as fast as humanly possible. If anything, Kawhi slowed the Raptors down slightly so we’re expecting the pace of this game to be stupidly fast and with the Total Points Over/Under up at a ridiculous 232, the bookies agree. Siakam is a tough matchup for

NBA DAY 1: PELICANS @ RAPTORS – PASCAL SIAKAM DD @ 3.50 (x2), TD @ 101

Siakam is the man for the Raptors now and in this ultra-fast-paced game it’s just hard to not see him notching ten rebounds especially with no Kawhi Leonard there. We’re on for a double stake because we want to cover a little for the TD spend! Sure, the TD is a massive hail mary but Siakam notched seven assists multiple times last season and hey, it’s the start of the new season and we’re excited so leave us alone!

NBA PTS MULTI: SIAKAM (+21.5), LOWRY (+15.5), HOLIDAY (+22.5), BALL (+11.5) @ 13.00

Obviously this multi (and the above player bets as well) are teams-dependent but if teams lineup as expected we’re taking the collective overs and cheering everything these four send up. To celebrate the start of the NBA season further, we’re also taking every 3-leg combo of this 4-leg multi!

NBA DAY 1 LAKERS @ CLIPPERS: LAKERS -2.5 @ 1.91

With Leonard joining the Clippers, they are going to be a force this season but no PG13 for this game (and Kawhi not shooting great preseason) give strong cause for concern for opening night.

Hopefully we see Davis and LeBron come out and make a big statement (pending Chinese approval of course) first up and really click like they did in the pre-season game against the Warriors.

NBA Futures: Rookie of the Year - Nickeil Alexander-Walker @ 151-1

If you got on early like some at the front bar did, you’ll be loving the 151-1 odds that you got, but even at the current $81 price tag, NAW feels well worth the punt given the injury to Zion Williamson.

Alexander-Walker was a very highly touted first round pick (went #17 to Brooklyn in ’19 Draft) that exploded this pre-season with the Pels. His usage rate had him in the company of Giannis, Harden etc. The Zion injury should see him play a big role for the Pelicans especially early on this season.

Hedge

Cruelly denied sporting glory due to recurring shin splint complaints and an aversion to warm-up laps, Hedge now spends his days golfing, fishing the leaves out of the Club 20 pools and identifying value plays in PGA, AFL, AFLW and T20. All you really need to know about him is he's more than comfortable taking 3I off the tee on a Par 5, and more than capable of pulling driver off the deck second shot.
