Makin' it Rain: Club 20 dialled in for a big weekend of bets!

We’re praying for rain in the cricket, it's going to rain in the footy and hopefully KAT, LeVert, Porzingis and DJ can make it rain mullah for us today.

Your sports betting weekend starts here with a nice even 20 bets from Club 20 across NBA, PGA, AFLW and BBL.

Enjoy and good luck to all.

NBA THURSDAY

We haven’t bet NBA for a while but some of the guys were keen on it at the front bar last night so we thought why the hell not – plus there were three we quite liked on today’s slate so here’s to a solid return to the court.

Probably (will) be taking all combos here so seven (7) bets in total.

Caris LeVert +15.5 Points @ 1.88

LeVert saw a return to form last start with 29 pts in 32mins of court time in Irving’s absence. We’re not expecting those numbers but he is still priced like Kryie is playing/he is playing off the bench. Expect he starts and plays another 30 in which case he would have to be ice cold to not clear 16 pts.

Karl Anthony Towns Points+Rebounds+Assists +45.5 @ 1.89

KAT has been copping it left, right and (get it!) centre lately for not winning a game since the invention of the internal combustion engine. He will have his pants of crankiness on today and he gets an amazing matchup against Atlanta (Jones/Collins wont trouble him whatsoever) where he notched a combo of 49 in 31mins late November.

Kristaps Porzingis Points + Rebounds +36.5 @ 1.87

Might seem like a large combo line for the guy the front bar have nicknamed Bazinga, but in the last two games without Luka Doncic (who is still injured) Kristaps has had 12 boards and 35/38pts respectively including 6 3-pters last start. He gets a fast-paced Grizzlies side today.

AFLW – FUTURES & ROUND 1

Three things are certain in my life – I can pour a good beer, I can hit a fairway when I need too, and I can win mullah on AFLW. Last year was so fruitful the Mrs. even released some funds from the ‘Hedge-No-Touchy’ accounts for me this season.

Four new teams and a bucketload of player movement have combined to give bookmakers even less clue about whats happening and here at Club 20 we’re in the crouch position ready to attack any value.

My pre-season articles on Stats Insider highlight who I think will be making finals so make sure you check them out before betting on any ‘To Play Finals’ or ‘Outright’ or ‘GF Quinella’ Markets.

Best and Fairest

Kiara Bowers @ 13-1

We were on her at 50’s last season and she finished a lazy 28 Champion Data points (per bloody game) clear of the next best player in the comp, some lady named Erin Phillips. Phillips had a great season no doubt but it was the media’s infatuation with her that denied Bowers the B&F. Sadly the 50-1 price is gone but so to is Phillips who will be lucky to play 5 games this season and likely all out of the goal square. No Dana Hooker in the Fremantle midfield only presents more opportunities for Bowers to dominate.

Ash Brazill @ 34-1

Brazill was a one-woman show for the Pies last season but unless you’re Gary Ablett, you don’t win a B&F for single-handedly holding back the tide. This season the netball convert gets both Chloe Molloy and Bri Davey to help her out across half back and possibly release her into some midfield minutes as well. Brazill being Brazill when the Pies are winning games will poll very well, and she has a house on Media/Narrative Street which always helps in these calculations.

AFLW Round 1

Bookmakers being frustratingly slow to put markets up (still no totals and some don’t even have spreads, just highlights they really don’t have much of an idea how to price it) and the torrential rain that’s about to batter much of the east coast combine to make spotting early R1 value difficult.

Think I’ve got a really good bead on some value plays but I want to confirm who is playing so with R1 Teams will be released tonight, you’ll have to be following along with us on twitter to get the first round plays.

PGA TOUR – AT&T PEBBLE BEACH PRO AM

A 3-course pro-am on a stupid-oclock in the morning our time - this is a dogs breakfast of an event to bet on and it really has not got enthusiasm levels peaking at all at the golf table at Club 20.

Having said that, the near unanimous opinion was to just take the price on DJ at 7’s. he hit it shit and putted even worse last week and still came 2nd. A lot of noise about him going to Saudi last year then playing poorly here, he was injured then and is not now. DJ should tear this apart.

Taking a flyer on Jimmy Walker and also placing our obligatory each way on the Barn Rat because, well he has an amazing short game and this is the year of the Rat people!

  • Dustin Johnson @ 7.00

  • Dustin Johnson T5 @ 2.60

  • Jimmy Walker @ 126

  • Jimmy Walker T10 @ 11

  • Kiradech Aphibarnrat EW @ 200/42

Also a few exotics we liked;

  • DJ, Cantlay and Fitzy all Top 10 (Inc. Ties) @ 17.00

  • DJ Top 5, Day Top 10 & Fitzy Top 20 (Inc. Ties) @ 21.00

  • Sneds Top 5 Vik Hovland Top 10 & Spieth Top 20 (Inc. Ties) @ 76.00

  • Patrick Cantlay & Paul Casey Finish 1st & 2nd (any order) @ 81.00

BBL – STARS V THUNDER

With an each-way bet on Jono Wells High Bat (top 4 paid) at 38-1, Club 20 has been conducting rain dances every few hours for the last few days and it looks to be working!

We might have a bet or two on twitter closer to bat flip but for now, if it's a wash out, Duckworth and his mate Lewis can help us land our big each-way.

Hedge

Cruelly denied sporting glory due to recurring shin splint complaints and an aversion to warm-up laps, Hedge now spends his days golfing, fishing the leaves out of the Club 20 pools and identifying value plays in PGA, AFL, AFLW and T20. All you really need to know about him is he's more than comfortable taking 3I off the tee on a Par 5, and more than capable of pulling driver off the deck second shot.
