Golf is back and we’re cashed up to make a big splash early in 2020!

After ending 2019 with a massive December (52% POT) hopes were up for trousers down with the hostess…wait, sorry, Aussie Crawl playing in the pool bar, geez that song’s bloody catchy.

Ahem, hopes were high for our great run to continue coming into 2020 and despite a cracking start, we’ve come back to the field somewhat (5.5% POT as of Wednesday). So it’s over to the PGA lads who have been crunching numbers all week to pull us out of the BBL blues.

Sony Open

The first full field event of the 2020 PGA season sees us in Hawaii at stupid-o’clock on Friday morning, on what looks a course where players will be needing to really have their irons hot as they fire at small Bermuda greens.

Normally guys need -20 to factor in the finish here at Waialae Country Club but that is in relatively benign conditions and this weekend will be anything but, with winds expected to remain in excess of 20 mph over the whole four days.

Outright Market

After having a good look at recent form, course history, approach stats, wind and Bermuda putting, we’ve come up with the ugliest, most tilting five outright bets in our short history…and we’re okay with it. We think.

Each way all five (place pays top 6) and hope to land the winner and maybe a place (or two!)

  • Matt Kuchar @ 26/6’s

  • Cam Smith @ 51/12’s

  • Emiliano Grillo @ 71/15’s

  • Daniel Berger @ 81/17’s

  • Scott Piercy @ 91/19’s

Sony Open Exotics

Few prop bets we like given all these players were on our radar anyway being either good approach players, able to handle wind or having great course history.

  • Any 4 of Collin Morikawa, Matt Kuchar, Charles Howell, Cameron Smith & Brandt Snedeker Top 20 Finish (Inc. Ties) @ 12’s

  • Justin Thomas Top 5 Finish, Collin Morikawa Top 10 Finish & Matt Kuchar Top 20 Finish (Inc. Ties) @ 17’s

  • Joaquin Niemann Top 5 Finish, Kevin Kisner Top 10 Finish & Brandt Snedeker Top 20 Finish (Inc. Ties) @ 91’s

  • Matt Kuchar Top 5 Finish, Charles Howell Top 10 Finish & Cameron Smith Top 20 Finish (Inc. Ties) @ 91’s

Sony Open Round One 3-Balls

We’ve been crunching wind data for days now and we’ve got four (4) we like first up.

  • Daniel Berger @ 2.40

  • Graeme McDowell @ 2.63

  • Scott Piercy @ 2.80

  • Corey Connors @ 2.00

The 4-leg multi is 35-1 and we will probably take all singles and combos here – really hoping for a massive start to 2020 in the Golf.

Big Bash – Heat v Hurricanes

We’ve had an incredibly successful BBL09 thus far, landing some massive exotic bets and ofcourse following The Gold Mine that is Jono Wells.

Sadly, the Strikers aren’t playing tonight, but we do like one bet from this game enough to go early on it as our Daily Bread bet (Best of the day).

Canes captain Ben McDermott will value his wicket doubly tonight sans the Redundant Apostrophe and keeping to Ahmed and Meredith he is always in the game for a catch and/or stumping, which makes the Overs on his 31.5pt Player Point line very appealing.

  • Ben McDermott Player Points – Over 31.5 @ 1.88

There will no doubt be more BBL bets closer to the bat flip so follow us at Club 20 on Twitter so you don’t miss out.

Hedge

Cruelly denied sporting glory due to recurring shin splint complaints and an aversion to warm-up laps, Hedge now spends his days golfing, fishing the leaves out of the Club 20 pools and identifying value plays in PGA, AFL, AFLW and T20. All you really need to know about him is he's more than comfortable taking 3I off the tee on a Par 5, and more than capable of pulling driver off the deck second shot.
