Club 20 poised to pounce on big weekend of sport

Excitement levels are high at Club 20 this week with Women's T20 World Cup starting tomorrow, NBA back, PGA and AFLW on, and the AFL pre-season starting tonight.
From Moorabbin to Mexico and everywhere in between, it’s fair to say we’re absolutely bouncing here at the front bar with so many things to bet on.
But in an uncharacteristically sensible move, we haven’t gone absolutely stupid too early this week and bet on everything that moves. Instead, we've preferred to watch, wait and pounce as more info and more tempting markets become available.
AFL Pre-Season – Saints v Hawks
Footy is back (kind of), and despite plenty of unknowns heading into Game 1 of what is a pretty mickey mouse pre-season ‘comp’, the footy heads at Club 20 are all pretty bullish that the Saints can get the win here tonight.
St Kilda win @ 2.25
Big home ground advantage for the Saints who need to start the season with a bit more ‘look at me’ vibes than the Hawks, who will be happy just to avoid injury and get equal minutes into players.
No goal scorer markets up yet, so check back in with us on the Club 20 Twitter channel this afternoon closer to bounce as we will no doubt dabble in some goals bets too.
PGA Tour – WGC Mexico Championship
Reduced field and no cut make it easier and yet harder at the same time. Very good field but no real value at the top end. So we’re going into the event with a small card and having a good watch R1 for some value to pop up after the first round.
Hopefully Adam Scott and a few other guys at the top have an average first round and blow out to a number we like.
Scotty Scheffler @ 100/26 (Top 5)
It was a good bounce-back at the Genesis after two missed cuts for Scotty. Hit is great, putted pretty well too on a surface that he doesn’t love. The number is just too big for a ball striker like Scheffler who gets guaranteed 4 rounds. He is the kind of calibre player who you can bank on to shoot a sub 64 one round which will put him up there.
Danny Willett @ 126/32 (Top 5)
Danny just needs a solid opening round for this number to look amazing. Was horribly out of form on the European Tour’s desert swing and didn’t impress at the Genesis missing the cut by 1. But he likes these shorter courses at altitude, could be just the kind of event to fire his irons up. Number is just too good.
PGA Tour – Puerto Rico Open
Some value in the alternative PGA event this week in what looks a weak field. Wind is a chance to impact things, so we’re going to take some class/pedigree at both ends of the betting board.
Alex Noren @ $17/5 (Top 5)
Vic Hovland is the market favourite but Noren is in much better touch. We backed him at the last alternate event in Bermuda where he finished T15 and could very well have landed for us had a few putts dropped. Hitting it better now, just found a little trouble around the greens at Riviera which can happen to the best of them. Expect he is over the odds a little for this field.
Robbie Shelton @ $101/26 (Top 5)
After a strong T36 at the Farmers Shelton couldn’t back it up in Phoenix but Robbie finds himself in a serous drop in grade here on a course that could play long and windy which is just the way he likes it. Shelton has gained almost a stroke per round on Poa in his short time on tour. Hasn’t put an event together yet like he can, but too tempting at these odds in this field.
AFLW – Round 3
Another week of solid AFLW profit last week (26.85% POT) giving us plenty of confidence we have this caper (mostly) nutted.
Absolutely smashed it last Saturday but a had a horror day Sunday which forced a re-evaluation of our pre-season assessments of both Adelaide and Geelong.
Round 3 Teams will be announced tonight so AFLW bets will be included in tomorrow’s email.
Women's T20 World Cup
We had a pretty red hot BBL over summer and our cricket team is confident of a repeat for the Women's T20 World Cup which starts tomorrow. Final form analysis being run poolside at the Club 20 Pool Bar as I type, so look out for some futures as well as bets on the Australia v India game in our email going out tomorrow.
