Introducing the one and only, Stats Insider

One year and three months since first announcing the prospect of a data-driven sports news site, it is my pleasure to finally introduce you to Stats Insider.

In Australia, we are starved of the beauty that is predictive data in our local sports media. What is the chance of Carlton winning this match when they’re down 40- 24 ? What chance do they have to  make the top 8? Or win the Grand Final? Commentators don’t have the data necessary to impart this knowledge on the viewer, but viewers should be demanding it. This is the kind of information that takes sport to the next level, and it’s information that’s been available for US Sports, soccer, and most other leading sports worldwide for many years. We're not the only one's that think it's interesting and cool,  we think a lot of you will think it is too.

Stats Insider analyses sport through the statistics, the numbers, and the passion, so whether you have something at stake in sports, or just want to know the chance of your team making finals, we’re here for you.  Either way, we’re experiencing the highs and the lows with you.

It’s our ambition to be ALWAYS ON – and we’ll get there soon. Expect live updated data, expert previews on every match, customised content and notifications for our premium users, and a whole lot of cool and insightful free information. All of our predictive data is developed in house using advanced machine learning technology and the latest in sports analytics. Our models have already had over 15 years of refinement, and continue to be regularly updated and improved, spearheaded by my business partner and co-founder Dr Darryl Woodford. We work with the same data providers who power your favourite newspapers, betting sites and fantasy platforms, to ensure we have the latest information powering our models.
