Predicting the NFL Conference Championship Games

It's been a wild NFL postseason so far.

While the Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs finished their regular-seasons each on a 5-0 run to claim the NFC North and AFC West, respectively, and a first-round bye to boot, it is the Tennessee Titans who have surprised the most this postseason, after finishing 9-7 for an AFC Wildcard berth.

No one could deny the Titans their now well-deserved place in the AFC Championship game, having run over the top of the New England Patriots (12-4) and Super Bowl favourites, Baltimore Ravens (14-2), in consecutive playoff weeks.

The San Francisco 49ers, meanwhile, fought the Seattle Seahawks tooth and nail all season to claim the NFC West and first seed in the National Football Conference for a first-round bye, before suitably disposing of the Minnesota Vikings last week, for a place in the NFC Championship game.

For the NFL Conference Championships, Stats Insider's NFL model utilised a variety of data points and machine-learning processes to predict the most likely outcome for each match.
